Join this engaging 4-hour glass workshop with renowned Darwin artist Melanie Tribe.
Glass coral bowls are made by cutting, layering then fusing glass in a kiln to make a one-of-a-kind art piece that captures the look of sea coral.
While it looks complicated this is an easy technique and a great way to be introduced to the magic of kiln formed glass.
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
· select, safely cut and shape glass;
· use arrange of glass tools including a glass cutter;
· select and prep a glass mould; and
· be given a brief introduction to the magic of a glass kiln.
You will get to put all of this into practise and produce your own unique coral bowl. Your artwork will be loaded into the kiln and will be ready for collection on the following Wednesday.
This workshop opens up attendance at the monthly Tactile Arts Fused Glass Group
