Brendan Penzer Textiles and Printmaking June to August 2026
Brendan Penzer / iZZY iBiS, is a social-ecological artist working across multiple mediums, including printing, installation, digital media, performance, ceramics and sculpture. iZZY's work subversively encourages change through action and engagement at the enveloping convergence of ecology, culture and psychology, in an interrogation of the age of the Anthropocene. Brendan / iZZY has exhibited in and curated exhibitions across Australia, including NSW, WA, VIC, SA, QLD and the NT. iZZY calls Katherine in the NT's Top-End home, where the traditional lands of the Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman converge.
The artist’s studio residency at Tactile Arts will see iZZY creating a new body of work that will culminate in a full-gallery exhibition, iNFLUiZZY (11-26 September 2026 at Tactile Arts Gallery). This body of work will include printmaking, ceramics, installation, sculpture, performance and digital media, and will interrogate the influences and history behind iZZY iBiS and their evolution and existence as a phenomenon and contemporary artist.
Brendan Penzer holds 1st Class Honours degrees in Bachelor of Applied Science – Social Ecology (Ecological Psychology & Cultural Change) and Bachelor of Fine Arts, Western Sydney University, NSW.
Courtney Hogan Glass and Jewellery April to June 2026
Courtney Hogan is a jeweller and artist from Narrm/Melbourne. Here she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT and was awarded the Emily Hope award for Figurative work. While she studied, she was fortunate to go on exchange to Idar-Oberstein in Germany. This is a small-town south-west where stone carving is the main point of focus.
While Courtney makes more jewellery with stone setting techniques within her practice, she also creates the occasional larger magical objects. These have elements of surrealism and narrative focussed illustrations with strong linework.
In 2022 she moved to South Australia to have a studio at JamFactory in their Metal and Jewellery department. Over here she explored other mediums such as ceramics and different scales in metal work - making objects, vases and even a small table.
I work as a multiform artist, focusing on both object-based sculptures and sound art. My sculptural practice centers on carving and engraving precious gemstones, lost wax carving and casting in precious metal as well as thrown and sculpted ceramic forms.
My sound art practice, I create digital soundscapes using field and vocal recordings, transforming them into multi-channel performances and installations. These works often accompany film as audio-visual experiences that expand the boundaries of sound and space.
