Northern Territory Craft Award 2026
The Northern Territory Craft Award 2026 showcases selected works by NT craftspeople across a wide range of disciplines, highlighting the depth and breadth of creative practice in the Territory.
The Award celebrates material-based making with a strong focus on technique and craft-led process.
Exhibited works span:
- Ceramics
- Glass
- Textiles and fibre
- Wood, metal, stone and natural materials
- Jewellery
- Paper
- Mixed media with a craft-led approach
- Print-based works, where printmaking forms part of a materially driven craft process
Prizes:
First Prize: $3,000
Second Prize: $1,000
Third Prize: $500
People's Choice Award: $500
This year's judges: Laurie Zio MLA, Sarah Johnson (Head of Collections, MAGNT), and Jenny Shepherd (Tactile Arts Board Member).
Exhibition Details
Opening Night & Award Announcement: Friday 10 July, from 5:30pm - all welcome.
Selected works are on display 11-25 July 2026, Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–2pm at Tactile Arts Gallery.
People's Choice Award:
Vote for your favourite work in person at Tactile Art Gallery.
Voting is open throughout the exhibition, 11-25 July 2026, during gallery hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm).
The People's Choice Award winner will be announced Tuesday 28 July via Tactile Arts' social media and website.
