Northern Territory Craft Award 2026
Overview
Tactile Arts proudly presents the Northern Territory Craft Award in July 2026, celebrating the remarkable skill, diversity and innovation of makers and craftspeople across the Northern Territory. From traditional practices to contemporary approaches, the award shines a spotlight on craft in all its forms and recognises the strength of making in our region.
The exhibition will showcase selected works by Northern Territory craftspeople working across a wide range of craft disciplines and mediums, highlighting the depth and breadth of creative practice in the Territory. The Award is a celebration of material-based making with a focus on technique and skills.
Artworks must have a material-based approach with a strong demonstration of craft technique, skill and craft led processes. Mediums considered include but are not limited:
- Ceramics
- Glass
- Textiles and fibre
- Wood, metal, stone and natural materials
- Jewellery
- Paper
- Mixed meia with a craft-led approach
- Print-based works are eligible where printmaking forms part of a materially driven craft process.
Prize Categories
- First Prize: $3000
- Second Prize: $1000
- Third Prize: $500
- Youth Craft Award: $500

Exhibition Dates: Saturday 11 July to Saturday 25th July - Opening Night: Friday 10 July from 5:30pm
