Following their time as Artists in Residence at Tactile Arts in 2025, Mandy Pryse Jones, Angie Soares, and Catherine Miles present a collaborative exhibition shaped by shared experience, ongoing dialogue, and a deep creative connection. Grounded in mutual respect and aligned values, their practices have evolved both individually and collectively since the residency, resulting in a body of work that reflects connection, reflection, and creative growth.
Each artist brings a distinct yet complementary approach. Angie Soares’ slow, contemplative practice draws on lace-making traditions, reinterpreted through contemporary, process-led methods. Working across needlework, printmaking, and assemblage, her work explores texture, materiality, and the quiet rituals of everyday life. Mandy Pryse Jones captures the vastness and depth of Australian landscapes, creating works that reflect the memory and presence held within Country. Catherine Miles’ practice centres on reconnection with the authentic self, seeking to strip away superficial ideals and uncover meaning through lived experience.
Together, their work intersects through shared themes of nature, slowness, family, memory, and storytelling. The exhibition brings together painting, weaving, and ceramics to form a cohesive yet diverse narrative—one that speaks to the power of collaboration and the enduring impact of their residency at Tactile Arts.
