Narratives from the North
Katherine Bradley and Russell Mead

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of the North—a land rich with ancient stories and a deep connection to nature. For thousands of years, this landscape has been home to both people and creatures, with tales passed down through generations, shaping the way we live and understand the world around us. These stories are not just cultural and spiritual, but also practical—reminding us that when we care for the land, it cares for us in return.

Our work honours these stories and the creatures that call this land home. From Russell’s reflections on Territory Travesties and their impact, to Katie’s celebration of the ancient landscapes and their secrets, we explore the profound relationship between people and place.

The Saltwater crocodile blends effortlessly into its environment, a living testament to the age-old history of this land. The Rufous owl hunts silently, while the haunting call of the bush curlew echoes through the night. The dragonflies signal the arrival of the dry season, and many nocturnal creatures—often unnoticed—play their vital role in this delicate ecosystem. This is a place of living history, where the stories are as enduring as the land itself.

Join us as we share the powerful connection between the ancient and the now, through stories, designs, and a deep respect for the creatures who share this land with us.
