with Aly de Groot
Darwin based artist, Aly de Groot’s earliest childhood memories include time spent in her Oma’s greenhouse, joyously making magic ”potions” from flowers and leaves for hours on end. Her fascination with playing with plants continued into adulthood, where she has accumulated over 20 years of knowledge and experience in the use of plants to produce colours. Join her for a fun and absorbing afternoon, learning the science and magic behind the use of several methods to extract pigments from plants commonly found in your kitchen and garden.
You will produce your own inks to take home as well as a series of samples that you will spend the afternoon slow stitching together into a gorgeous handmade little book or series of gift cards.
