Day 1: Thursday 3rd October: Lino Printing
Hosted by local artist and art educator Dawn Beasley, this four-hour course will guide participants through the design, carving and printing process to create a repeat lino print on textiles. They’ll leave with a printed T-shirt, T-towel and Tote bag showcasing their own design!
Using specialist equipment in Tactile Arts’ dedicated printing studio, participants will be guided through the creative process in simple steps to carve their lino print design and print it to create a repeat pattern. There’ll be resources and imagery to inspire ideas suitable for the medium and techniques employed, and expert guidance to ensure success.
Workshop content can be tailored to meet NTCET requirements for yr 12 students needing to add to their coursework requirements.
Day 2: Friday 4th October: Screen Printing
Attendees will be walked through the design and printing process using screen printing with a paper focus. Hosted by local artist and educator Katie Bradley this four-hour course will guide attendees through a design and printing process, which includes creating a marbled or printed background on paper, that an image is screen printed onto.
Using specialist equipment in Tactile Arts’ dedicated printing studio, attendees will be guided through the creative process. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to screen print and an artwork showcasing their own design. There’ll be resources and imagery to inspire ideas suitable for the medium and techniques employed, and expert guidance to ensure success.
