Now you have mastered your machine and made a tote bag, this 4 week workshop will introduce skills about how to read a pattern and cut the material.  You will sew your simple garment.

 At the end of the course you have learnt:

  • About a commercial pattern and understood the terminology on the pattern and what all the various markings are.
  • Fabric selection and the perfect fabric/pattern design marriage.
  • Cutting efficiently and learning about why some fabrics must be cut a certain way i.e. stretch fabrics, velvets, cords, and one-way prints.
  • Various machine techniques, like gathering, pleats, pockets, and various other applications.

You will need to bring to class:
BYO sewing machine to all classes
Sewing scissors

Members: $180
Non Members: $200

Four Tuesdays: 19th, 26th March, 2nd & 9th April 

Minimum class size 5, maximum 8. Class subject to cancellation due to insufficient bookings in which case fees paid will be refunded. Full student refunds can be issued up to 7 working days prior to commencement, however individual classes will not be refunded due to nonattendance.
