with Lillian Smith
Students will learn two different dyeing techniques in this workshop with textile artist Lillian Smith. You’ll experience amazing random patterns in brilliant colours with Ice dyeing and explore Shibori techniques with Indigo dyeing.
A cotton scarf will be available for the ice dyeing and a piece of silk will be available for the indigo dying (silk is not suitable for Ice dyeing). Bring used well washed t shirts or blouses made from cotton, linen or rayon in white or light colours. Smaller garments are suitable, rather than big bulky ones - not a maxi skirt for example. Cotton tights should be OK, not synthetic.
