with Eleanor Martin
Eleanor was first introduced to throwing on the wheel in 2016 and now has her own home studio where she produces small-batch functional ceramics with a focus on creating mugs. For Eleanor, the challenging and creative nature of the craft is almost meditative and has had the ability to relieve stress and anxiety in her life. Eleanor is familiar with the struggles that beginners often face when first learning the skill. She has learned pottery from a range of different tutors over the years and aims to use the different ways of throwing taught by each tutor to tune in to students' different learning styles to help them overcome those challenges.
Beginners will learn the basics of wheel throwing, design, trimming and glazing. Intermediate students will be challenged with refining skills, new ideas and forms.
