Annie Gastin's love affair with clay began after a few lessons at Tactile Arts Darwin. Her discovery of how different clay bodies, glazes, oxides and underglazes can create a multitude of effects are an exciting and wonderfully addictive pastime for her. She uses the wheel to throw bowls, pots and plates but also hand builds her platters. She then experiments by hand painting with underglazes on porcelain and earthenware to create her original designs. All pieces are high fired porcelain or stoneware or a lovely cocktail of both.
