The Tactile Arts Gallery is located at the front of our office and studio complex just 5 minutes from the centre of Darwin in the parklands of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).

Our vision for the Tactile Arts gallery is to present a diverse, high quality exhibition program showcasing work by emerging and established local practitioners to inspire and engage audiences. Our gallery offers a continuously changing program with approximately 12 exhibitions per annum including two Tactile Arts members’ shows. These exhibitions display new artworks representing a range of disciplines from painting, printmaking and photography, to sculpture, fine art objects and installation art.

We publicise and promote exhibitions held in our gallery via our extensive emailing list, our website, Tactile Arts program brochures, social media, media releases and print media listings. Our exhibition openings are well attended and our proximity to MAGNT ensures a steady flow of visitors through the gallery, eager to discover locally produced work.

Individual artists, groups, arts organisations and community cultural groups are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) during the month of August to present exhibitions in the Tactile Arts Gallery for the following calendar year. Exhibitions may consist of traditional or contemporary art and craft forms along with community and cultural heritage projects.

Tactile Arts also hosts two Members Exhibitions each year, this is a fantastic opportunity for our members to showcase their arts and crafts, as well as the local community and travellers to view and purchase some of these beautifully handcrafted pieces.
