with Dawn Beasely
Make your own delicate and enduring porcelain flowers under the tutorship of porcelain ceramic artist Dawn Beasley. Learn how to work with the finest of clay mediums to create beautiful sculptural flower forms. Learn how to use ceramic pigments to add subtle colour to highlight texture and to selectively glaze small elements. These works are intended to be wall hung but can be adapted for wire stems or magnets.
This workshop coincides with Dawn Beasely's solo exhibition Botanically Porcelain at the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art (NCCA). In this body of work, Beasley tells a story of humans, nature, and survival. Her porcelain sculptures are at once fragile and enduring – a message of resilience that has never been more relevant to Northern Australia’s natural landscape. With her largest installations yet, Beasley has transformed NCCA into a world of abundance and new life.

Dawn Beasley is an artist based in Darwin, on Larrakia Country, whose creative practice examines the relationships between humans and the natural world we occupy.
