In this evening class participants will learn masterful botanical art techniques, harnessing pencil, watercolour, granulated pigments, archival quality fine liners and professional brushes to render brilliant botanical art inspired by Seasons. 

Session 1: Cloudy Day
Learn: Line, shape, form
Create: Graphite drawing

Session 2: Rainy day
Learn: Visual perception, colour harmony, colour mixing
Create: Watercolour and ink illustration (wet technique)

Session 3: Torrid Day
Learn: Composition, ​negative space, ​perspective
Create: Watercolour,​ illustration, (dry brush technique)

Session 4: Bright Day
Learn: Geometry and measurements
Create: Watercolour painting of fruits and vegetables

Anastasia’s professional workshops are designed to enable participants to develop skills and techniques and transform their artwork. Weekly sessions will focus on a variety of challenges as well as guide participants through drawing skills and brushwork techniques to help them formulate superb results.

Anastasia is a botanical artist, tutor, and researcher, exploring arts-based environmental education. She provides workshops with a focus on the history of botanical art, the peculiarities of its graphite, ink, and watercolour techniques, and the interconnection between contemporary Botanical Art and environmental sustainability. Anastasia is a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia, the Association of British Botanical Artists, the American Society of Botanical Artists, and the international Society of Botanical Artists. She has actively participated in national and international art exhibitions, including a project “Botanical Art Worldwide” and a variety of socio-cultural projects, devoted to plant biodiversity conservation.   

All professional quality materials, paper and brushes are provided. Please wear closed in footwear and sensible clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

Minimum class size 5, maximum 15. Class subject to cancellation due to insufficient bookings in which case fees paid will be refunded. Full student refunds can be issued up to 7 working days prior to commencement, however individual classes will not be refunded due to nonattendance.
